Every time I think about going inside the Kauffman Center, I think about that Simpsons episode where Homer walks into the fancy restaurant and the maitre d' with the thin mustache cuts him off and smiles really big and says, "Good evening, sir, would you please leave without making a scene?" Still, I am curious about what that $413 million building looks like on the inside. So this Sunday, I will probably attend the Kauffman Center open house, where it will be very hard for them to deny me entry.

Another reason to attend: A lot of very fine local performers will be on hand doing their thing. The Bobby Watson All-Star Jazz Orchestra, Megan Birdsall, Alaturka, Trampled Under Foot, Drew Six. Many more. Goes from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check out the full lineup here.
