Are you an unsigned band with hopes of making it big someday? A struggling singer-songwriter with stars in your eyes? Would you simply like to play to more people than the bartender and the other band on the bill? Fear not, local musician: The 2011 installment of the KJHK 90.7 battle of the bands, Farmer's Ball, has arrived.

This year's go-round features a showcase of former winners Will Nots, Hospital Ships and Nezbeat on Thursday, October 13. The next evening, Friday, October 14, eight bands duke it out (musically — nobody wants a repeat of a 2004 incident when the substitute drummer for Ike Turner Overdrive clocked somebody in the face), with the top four contenders returning Saturday, October 15, for a shot at the gold. More details and an entry form can be found at the KJHK website
