Wine and cheese pair well together. But put a robust wine and an oddball rock musician together, and you've got something epic. Tonight, Cellar Rat Wine Merchants hosts a tasting of wines from Arizona Stronghold, which is partially owned by Maynard James Keenan (Tool, Puscifer, A Perfect Circle). The tasting is from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

"Ryan Sciara [Cellar Rat managing partner, co-founder] and our local representative of Arizona Stronghold wines, Rich Zellich, decided to host the tasting because Maynard is passionate [about] producing really interesting and delicious wines from an area that is relatively new to our market," says Debbie Auld, Cellar Rat assistant manager. "We will be pouring a sample of each wine for guests to taste and will have the wines available for purchase by the glass."

Guests will enjoy:

2010 Mondala White

2006 Merkin Chupacabra

2010 Magnus

2010 Mondala Red

2010 Dala Cabernet Sauvignon

Now, don't get too excited, folks. Maynard will absolutely not be in attendance.
