Listen before the show: Dr. Dog, Snow Patrol

Dr. Dogs dogs.
  • Dr. Dog's dogs.
Listen to two very different bands before they roll into town.

First: Dr. Dog

Dr. Dog is touring in support of Be the Void, out February 7 on ANTI-. The band's ramshackle, '60s-influenced songs blithely jangle along. They recently released Void's opening cut, "Lonesome", via Paste.

Catch the Dog live in Lawrence February 2 at the Granada at 8:30 p.m. Support from Purling Hiss. All-ages. Advance tickets $15.

And second: Snow Patrol

These pleasantly depressed indie-pop darlings won't be here until April 24. The Patrol is heading out in support of a new album, Fallen Empires, which sounds just about as emotionally epic as ever. Listen to some new tunes and a few golden oldies over at NPR's World Cafe.

See 'em at the Beaumont. Doors open at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $26.
