Love on the airwaves, with KJHK and the Buzz

Two area radio stations offer up Valentine's Day gifts. The Buzz will give listeners a treat when its morning host, Afentra, brings her annual VD Party to the Midland this Friday, February 10. It's a free show with Middle Class Rut, the Lonely Forest, the Chain Gang of 1974, and O Giant Man. You'll have to listen to 96.5 FM to get in, but I'm sure they'll have plenty of tickets.

Hoping you'll give them a gift, KJHK is taking a different tack and using Valentine's Day as a way to raise money for the student-run radio station. Per its website, the station is "offering you the chance to share personal messages all day on February 14 to spread the love." For a $5 donation, you can get your message of love read on-air once, or shell out a few bucks more to have it proclaimed to the masses over and over. Details and an order form are at the KJHK website.
