In 2000, the Primetime Heroes rose from the ashes of a previous Topeka pop-punk act, the Effigies. After releasing two albums on local label Noisome Records, the band played its farewell show in 2006. This past weekend, though, the band announced that it'll be playing two reunion shows this summer. Despite the announcement being on April 1, it's no April Fools' joke. The foursome will play Topeka's Boobie Trap bar as part of the club's twentieth anniversary celebration, with shows on Friday, June 15, and Saturday, June 16. Primetime Heroes have also recorded a new song, "Lonely Hearted in the Sunflower State," with another on the way. You can take a listen below.
