Vinyl Renaissance (39th Street)
Opens at 10 a.m. In addition to the usual RSD special-edition records, there'll be "thousands of LPs at $1." The shop will be debuting its new performance space, The Sandbox, which I'm pretty sure is that empty area where you walk in? Golden Sounds Records and the Record Machine have teamed up to release a 12-inch (more on that here), and some of the bands featured on it are performing at Vinyl Ren.

From the Facebook page: "We ordered all special Record Store Day Titles. The specials are as follows: $1 off of all New Vinyl (this includes RSD titles). $2 off of each used LP or CD (excluding the Dollar Room). We'll be giving away prizes every 20 minutes, including Gift Certificates, new records, turntables, subway posters, concert tickets, t-shirts, etc."
Many of these records. Also, spend more than $50 and you'll get a credit slip worth 10 percent of whatever you purchase for use on future visits.
"We're open. We've taken in some big used collections recently, but no live performances, no tweet for a discount, no line numbers," says shop owner Steve Wilson. "People are trying to turn this day into the indie-rock version of Wal-Mart on Thanksgiving Eve. But yeah, it's Record Store Day, and we're a record store, so we'll be open. We've got a bunch of good stuff, so we hope to see some people." Spoken like a true record-store dude.
We miss anything? Please post it in the comments.
