Listen Before the Show: Greylag

Portland's Greylag has been getting a lot of comparisons to fellow Pacific Northwest denizens like Fleet Foxes, and it's easy to see why. High, lonesome vocals combine with acoustic strumming and a stomping rhythm, taking as much from British folk as it does from American indie rock. The band plays the Granada Wednesday, May 2, opening for Augustana. Take a listen to "Black Crow," off Greylag's debut EP, The Only Way to Kill You, which came out Tuesday on Ninth Street Opus Records (home to recently revived Lawrence folk-rock act the Roseline).
