Count this among the better candidates for your First Friday attention tomorrow: the Soul Providers Crew, the local hip-hop collective who've been throwing free block parties in the Crossroads for a few years now, is teaming up with the Salvation Army for a good-old-fashioned food drive. Stop by, drop off some non-perishable items, kick it for a while, and then go forth, your soul rejuvenated. There is also the chance that giving unto others will diminish some of the guilt you may harbor about drinking free alcoholic beverages at the other parties and galleries. It's all about balance, you see?
The party is next to Birdie's on 18th Street. List of non-perishable items, and a video of crew members Les Izmore, Hozey-T, and Young Storm freestyling, after the jump.
