It includes a whopping 25 songs, a few from local artists like Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk and C V L T S, but mostly national ones, including Cloud Nothings and Julian Lynch. Lots of weirdo ambient tracks, but some rippers, too. Tracklist after the jump.

Download a track off the latest New Pornos album before you catch 'em at Liberty Hall next week.
Free Energy, Morning Benders, New Pornographers, the National, Phosphorescent, Big Boi, Dum Dum Girls, Ted Leo -- lots of good stuff on there. If you've been disengaged from indie music this year, this is a fairly efficient way to catch you up.

You'll see this tomorrow night.
Kansas City trio Takedown reunites tomorrow night for a one-off show at the gazebo in Brookfield's City Park. Wayward Blog spoke with bassist and lead vocalist Chad Stewart via e-mail about the band's reunion.
Are you just reuniting for the one show, or will you be doing more?
Takedown at this point is only reuniting for this one show.

The band will be releasing Skeletor on cassette (SOLID MELTS) and CD (Worker Bee Records), and in the meantime they've dropped a new, but as yet unmastered, song on us from the album. Check it out below. Love the moment 1:07 in, when that calm, distant electric guitar and the vocal harmony catch up to the reverb and fuzz.
Baby Birds are playing this coming Tuesday in Lawrence, at 8th Street Taproom.

An email address is a small price to pay to hear the new track from Springfield's Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. The band's third release, Let It Sway, is out on Polyvinyl on August 17, and it's produced by Death Cab for Cutie's guitarist, Chris Walla. At first glance, the song seems like a tighter, more focused take on the band's sweet, comfortable indie pop (which feels like the sonic equivalent of hugging a warm load of fresh laundry).

Cody Critcheloe, Kansas City's greatest art-punk pop star and the leader of the Ssion collective, is killing it. He directed a recent Peaches video, he pops up in Vice magazine all the time, and BOY, his feature-length film, is still making the rounds to fine reviews.
He just made a mixtape for DIS Magazine that you can download here. Tracklist here. It's got songs by Madonna, PJ Harvey, and Janet Jackson, and it flows remarkably well. Basically, if you like Ssion, you will probably like this tape.
you want it for your iPod, you can download "Dragon's Song," a track from Void, plus an exclusive demo, at the
band's website.
A few runs through Void
yield the usual Blitzen Trapper returns: weirdo twang, stacked harmonies, one
folk ditty for every art-rock stomp, a hodgepodge of 1970s sounds the band expertly molds into something uniquely its own. If you liked these guys before, there's little on the new album that should
change your mind. If you liked them just okay, but thought their arrangements weren't theatrical enough, well, this is the album for you, because there's clear echoes of Jethro Tull, Queen, and Hunky Dory-era Bowie on this thing.
