Former Drive-By Trucker and current pretty-good songwriter Jason Isbell stopped in at Knuckleheads Friday night with his band, the 400 Unit. I had planned to attend, but instead I ate nearly an entire pizza and fell asleep on my couch. When I woke up, I was still holding a piece of crust! Anyway, our art director Ashford Stamper went and took some photographs. View them here, if you are so inclined.

Just about everybody who's ever made you a fancy drink in this town was at the Uptown last night for the Greater Kansas City Bartending Competition, now in its fifth year. The Rieger's Valdez Campos was crowned the winner for his delicious drink, Rick's Fizz. Photographer Brooke Vandever documented the proceedings.

We could never replace the Replacements, but Kansas City's artists did pay them proper tribute on the stage of RecordBar on Sunday, April 24. (Performers included John Velghe and the Prodigal Sons, Uft!, Christopher Tolle and Friends, Adam Stotts, Chad Rex and the Victorstands and Dead Girls.)
