Blame Hurricane Isaac. Refund/reschedule information will be available soon, according to Facebook. What else is there to do?

Megan Birdsall's band, MBird, is at the Uptown Arts Bar.

There's a one-off screening of a Fatboy Slim documentary at the Tivoli.

Nature Boys and some other bands are at Davey's Uptown.

The Conquerors and Savage Seven are at RecordBar.

Plus some other weekend picks here. Happy Labor Day weekend! No labor!

There was a fire at Jerry's Bait Shop last night

The TV stations are reporting that a fire broke out at the Jerry's Bait Shop in Lenexa in the early morning hours Tuesday. The space above the suburban bar and live-music venue was apparently hit with the most damage, but there has been some water and smoke damage in the bar as well. No word on cause or if/how long it'll be closed yet, but we'll update.

John Mayer not bigger than his body; has canceled his Starlight show

John Mayer has some sort of throat problem and will be taking an indefinite hiatus from performing. That includes his May 3 show scheduled at Starlight. If you bought tickets with a credit card, it'll be refunded automatically. More info here. Mayer's full statement after the jump.

The Watson Twins canceled tonight

Chandra and Leigh Watson -- better known as the Watson Twins -- got their big break in 2006 by adding soulful embroidery to Jenny Lewis' barbed ballads on Rabbit Fur Coat. The duo stepped out from behind Lewis in 2008 with Fire Songs, and they're back with a new release, Talking to You, Talking to Me.

No reason yet for the cancelation -- looks like the Twins played Omaha last night, and are heading to Evanston, IL, the day after. Summer bummers, man.

Bret Michaels postpones Uptown show to judge Miss America contest

How's this for discourse: Michaels is bailing on his August 25 show at the Uptown. Why? So he can host the Miss America pageant on August 23! The nerve of this guy! 

He's rescheduled, though: the new date to see your boy at the Uptown is Thursday, November 18.

Canceled: Mondo Generator at Riot Room tonight

"Mondo Generator have had to postpone their current US tour. The band are very sorry about this and would like to apologize to all involved; The shows will be rescheduled to run in December and January. New dates will be announced shortly."

Pretty vague. We'll keep you in the loop with any reschedules.

Postponed: Charlie Louvin at Davey's Uptown

Louvin -- who just turned 83 -- planned to swing through Davey's next week, on July 31, but was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He's undergoing an operation this week from which he is expected to fully recover, and has even rescheduled the Davey's date, for November 20. Locals the Grisly Hand will open.
