The Beaumont's Interior
We still haven't yet rubbed the Christmas/New Year's break sleep out of our eyes, and we're seeing reports of some bummer news. Info surfaced this morning here and here that the Beaumont Club is closing its doors. No word yet on when or why, but we'll post news or a statement from the club as it appears. It looks as though 2013 has already claimed one of Westport's big ones.
First of all, if you haven't perused our Rockfest slideshow from a few weeks back, now is the time to do so. After you do that, watch this video of a girl dressed like Snooki getting kicked extremely hard in the chest during a fight at Rockfest. Spoiler alert: This shit is nasty, y'all.

The Kinetiks' live shows are infectious. Not, like, "Ugh, I'm infectious," but infectiously dance-y! Sadly, though, it's all over for the band after this Saturday. They're calling it quits after almost seven years, on account of Spencer Goertz-Giffen's upcoming move to California. We recently spoke with Goertz-Giffen and found out what's planned for Saturday night's farewell and how the band's members will carry on.

Trampled Under Foot's 6 x 12 white Atlas trailer (with side door, fold/dropdown back door) was stolen out of the Eclipse Bar & Grill parking lot in Raytown (6512 Raytown Road) on Wednesday night between 10:10 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. The thieves were driving a black truck (maybe a Chevy or Dodge). Got any leads/tips? Contact the band.

The end is near. All vinyl is being pulled from Streetside Records today, in anticipation of the record store's imminent closing on January 23. (CDs will still be available until then.) Here's what the store's Facebook page says:
Orders from above: ALL VINYL IS BEING PULLED TODAY AT STREETSIDE RECORDS! TODAY IS YOUR LAST DAY TO BUY VINYL RECORDS AT STREETSIDE RECORDS IN WESTPORT. Our last day for everything else is January 23rd!
The new stuff is down to three or four rows, and record-store staff are starting to box up used records on the floor right now. The cashier's recommendation? "I'd just get down here as soon as you can."

Waldo institution SRO Video will close its doors "sometime in March or April," according to the guy who answered the phone when I called over there last night.

Way to go, Missouri!
I just wrote it, and it goes a little something, uhhlike this...
Jk, jk. It was written and performed by some nameless, faceless person affiliated with the campaign of Robin Carnahan, Blunt's opponent in the Missouri Senate race. Which means that it is negative in tone, although that does not mean that it's not accurate.
You want to hear it. Yeah you do. C'mon, let's have a listen. It's only 30 seconds.
